THE DOWNS is a show you won’t want to miss! If you’ve ever wondered about life on a farm in Northern New Brunswick during your grandparent’s time...THE DOWNS will paint that picture for you. Life before washing machines and phones. Life before television and internet. In a lot of ways, it was much simpler...but in other ways...extremely difficult. Our character Millie Johnson, has a knack for making you feel right at home, like you’re sitting in her kitchen or on her front porch, sipping a spot of tea...while she regales you in her unique story-telling style.

Millie will have you splitting your side in laughter one moment, then fighting back tears the next. You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. You’ll shake your head and wonder...how in the world did they do it? How did they get by without all the modern conveniences that we have? Then you’ll realize...our ancestors knew the meaning of hard work in ways we never will. Our grandparents laughed, loved and lived simply, but fully with what they had. Millie teaches us lessons in acceptance, love and the importance of being able to use a rifle!
